About Joe’s Bakery

Joe’s Bakery West Perth is an independent family bakery that has been operating out of West Perth since 1979.

Joe and his wife Jane first opened The Cake Kitchen in September 1979 on Outram Street in West Perth. The shop operated here for 7 years, before moving to 1248 Hay Street where it still is today. With Joe making and baking everything on site, it was soon renamed Joe’s by the locals.

In January 2016, Joe’s Cake Kitchen expanded into the shop next door and reopened with a fresh new look, expanded seating and servery and is now called Joe’s Bakery West Perth.

Joe comes with a wealth of experience starting with his training at the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris where he spent 4 years. He gained great knowledge of the pastry industry and returned to Perth to become a chef at one of the top 5 star hotels where he furthered his knowledge.

Today the shop is a true family business with son David joining as a pastry chef in 2003, bringing the next generation’s enthusiasm and experience to the store. Joe and Jane’s daughter Gabrielle is also heavily involved within the customer service and accounts side of the business bringing many years of experience in hospitality and a degree in commerce.

The shop continues to make and bake fresh produce daily, specialising in pies, pastries, sausage rolls, breads and cakes.

Joe’s has become a landmark in West Perth, a home to hundreds of people for lunches and catering around and beyond the city. It quickly established a strong reputation for quality and price which continues today.

Pop in and see us for a coffee and cake, pick up some office morning tea or grab a pre-made lunch roll or a pie. Catering and platters are also available to be pre-ordered.
